I was diagnosed with muscle invasive bladder cancer in Dec 2021 and since that time have undergone chemotherapy and surgery for this devastating disease. I have responded well to treatments and my medical oncologist has said I have had the best possible outcome from my treatment. I am now trying to regain some of my previous fitness and commensurate with that goal is raising money in support of Bladder Cancer Canada by participating in Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer.
I have been walking and jogging 8-10km per day and plan to continue to do this. I would welcome you joining me on the TransCanada trail ( at Renfrew road, Shawnigan lake) on Sept 22 at 11 am for a 10k walk. (Bring a snack and water!)
Please consider joining me in this endeavour!
Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer is a national walk, with participants from across Canada uniting to increase awareness and raise funds to support Bladder Cancer Canada.
Bladder cancer is one of the most expensive cancers to treat, with a high recurrence rate it receives very little research funding. This year, another 12,500 Canadians will be diagnosed, adding to the 80,000+ survivors.
Please donate today and support my fundraising efforts. Consider joining Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer. Together we can make bladder cancer just a memory!
