This year marks my 10th cancer-free year! I can't believe how far I've come since 2012 - a diagnosis of high-grade advanced bladder cancer, chemotherapy and then the removal of my bladder with the creation of a new one. How lucky am I to be enjoying life these past years without seemingly missing a beat!
Bladder Cancer Canada played a big role in helping me recover and create my 'new normal'. Through support from others and then my ability to give back and share my experiences to help those diagnosed with muscle-invasive disease, I have found my purpose.
As a longstanding volunteer with Bladder Cancer Canada, I ask you to join me in Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer, a national walk, with participants from across Canada uniting to increase awareness and raise funds to support Bladder Cancer Canada.
Bladder cancer is one of the most expensive cancers to treat, with a high recurrence rate it receives very little research funding. This year, another 12,500 Canadians will be diagnosed, adding to the 80,000+ survivors.
Please donate today and support my fundraising efforts. Consider joining Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer. Together we can make bladder cancer just a memory!
