In July 2023, Marylou was diagnosed with muscle-invasive bladder cancer. It was a challenging time, but thanks to the exceptional care from the urology, oncology and radiation teams at both St Joseph's Hospital and Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton, she is now cancer-free. The journey through chemotherapy and radiation treatment was tough, but it made us realize the importance of support and the advancements in cancer treatment that can save lives.
Bladder cancer is the most expensive cancer to treat, with a high recurrence rate and yet it receives very little research funding. This year, another 13,300 Canadians will be diagnosed - adding to the 80,000+ survivors. Our team 'Ossie Strong' is raising money in support of Bladder Cancer Canada by participating in Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer on September 21st. This cause is incredibly important to us to help provide the same level of care and hope to others battling this disease.
We're reaching out to ask for your generous support in this fundraising effort. All donations will go directly towards research, treatment advancements, and importantly support for those affected by bladder cancer. We appreciate you may already support many worthy causes, so please do not feel any pressure or obligation to donate However, if you are able, any contribution, no matter the size, will have
an impact and will be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
